La mezcla de arroz y frijoles es típica de muchos países iberoamericanos, donde recibe distintos nombres: gallo pinto, moros y cristianos, casamiento, pabellón criollo. Esta es una versión con pollo que puede que se parezca a alguna tradicional o puede que no se parezca a nada, ya que la hice con lo que había en casa y como me apeteció.
