The Spiritual Variant or Variante Espiritual is an optional route of the Portuguese Camino de Santiago from Pontevedra to Padron. This route is one of my favorites out of 9 different Camino de Santiago routes that I've done. The name spiritual comes from the fact that the route follows the last part of the journey of the remains of the Apostle St.James.

tienes también la opcion de quedarte como peregrino obivamente pagando en el monasterio. el albergue es público, pero gestión privada y admite reservas y realmente no suelen ser senderistas pero si hay peregrinos que hacen la etapa muy tranquilamente sabiendo que tienen plaza reservada en el albergue. aconsejo siempre reservar en armenteira, ya en arousa hay más opciones de alojamiento.

Para hacelo con la Variante Espiritual, tienes que desviarte pasado Pontevedra (a unos dos kilómetros, debidamente señalizado), dirección Poio, Combarro y Armenteira (albergue y final de etapa).
