DOG BOXES... DIY OR CUSTOM BUILD? Double U Hunting Supply
I started with a 12' aluminum utility trailer and had 4 hole boxes built to fit. There is enough room on back for 4 wheeler or other dog boxes. I have just under $3,000 in it. If you build one yourself make sure the doors on the side not the back, doors on the back will suck dust into them like a vacuum.

84. soap barrel. Go to your local car wash and ask for one of their empty soap barrels. Cut a door hole in one end and make yourself a door out of plywood or the piece of plastic you cut out if you were careful. I use these for dog houses and they work great. Attach a 2 x 4 or other board to the barrel to keep it from rolling.

Our first dog boxes were built for under $300 each and we set the money aside for a few years to be able to build a custom one because they do come with a hefty price and don't forget you may also have to ship it. All in all, we were into our custom dog box for $2800 after shipping, but this investment is one we will use for many years to come.

Step 5. Weld latches on to secure your dog box to the truck. Latches should be welded onto the bottom piece. Four latches, one on each side should do the trick. If you don't want to weld latches, you may be able to make four holes into your material where bolts can be placed.

One down each side with a walkway down the middle. they work great. I talked with a local fella that does Rino Lining on trucks about rhino lining the boxes. He assured me it would work.
