Custom Hawke So after a long process of fiddling with my DAkeep, I restart Inquisition with my imported data. Everything's moving along schwifty UNTILL the moment varric introduces Hawke and I'm given the option to use generic hawke, or to customize. WHY? Imported my old Hawke, her tapestry card even had her full name AND face on it?

Depends on the playthrough. I like custom and default for different moods. And actually, fun fact: the siblings, Leandra, and Gamlen's appearances will change depending on which preset model you use to customise from. I think there are like nine different tweaks based on facial structure and skin tone.

In DA2's character artstyle I found it best to exaggerate Hawke's features if you want to make her distinctive. It's very easy to end up with a Hawke that looks bland and average. I ended up giving mine a big nose and recessed chin. While hardly classically beautiful, I really like the way she looks.

I've always considered Hawke's warpaint (the red stripe) to be his/her signature thing, similar to the green glow cast by the Inquisitor's mark.

Additionally, I downloaded blender 2.49b (to be specific, it was blender-2.49b-windows.exe) and python-2.5.2.amd64.msi and python-2.6.amd64.msi I don't know if these were the right files/versions, and I'm not even sure where the Python files are supposed to go. I've used programs like Maya before but I am unfamiliar with Blender.

as with the default setting on Mass Effect, the default option for hawke can't be customized at all, if you wish a custom hawke, there is no other option but to choose one of the presets and customize from there. also the defaut hairstyle for female hawke is imposible to obtain in a custom build. my condolences ) 13:36, March 8, 2011 (UTC)

I originally intended him to be a paladin-esque, upper-left-blue sort of character, but ended up playing him with a strong blind spot for mages due to Bethany, which turns tragic where Merrill/Anders and other decisions are concerned. I've being wondering about this ever since getting involved in the fandom — I've noticed a lot of fans who make custom Wardens and Inquisitors for the other games will use the default designed "Garrett Hawke" as their main/canon Hawke.
