Who knows though, all say it looks like a bear. Diego is curious if some geologists can help identify his rock. Quartzite. The outside looks like gold. I doubt it could be real gold because the rock looks like it was rounded by a river, but it looks like quartz which is where you'd expect to find gold, so it's worth a close examination or assay. It's iron staining, caused by a mix of iron oxides and hydroxides.

I know it's quartzite and not sandstone, because it doesn't look like sandstone, it looks like quartzite. Not trying to be a dick, but that's how I know. I grew up surrounded by sandstone, I've collected textbook examples of both rocks, becasue sandstone and quartzite are both textbook examples of sedimentary and metamorphic rock types.
