It I backs up to woods with tons of birds and deer. KW is the owner and thinks of everything. I'm talking he had a bonfire all set up, with lighter fluid and lighter conveniently placed right next to it for whenever.

The first article I wrote for Country Roads was about the Shadetree Inn in St. Francisville. The year was 1996 and I'd only called Louisiana home for a couple of months when an article intended for the "Weekends Away" section of the magazine fell through, creating a chance for a wet-behind-the-ears recent arrival to see his name in print for the first time.

The wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor prompted my husband and I to chose the Shadetree Inn for a weekend trip to St. Francisville. And am I glad we did! We stayed 2 nights in the "Sun Porch" suite, one of 3 on the property. The attention to detail is supurb and you will never have a nicer host than K.W., the owner. He is a delightful man who is.
