These fork tubes fit 2008-Up Harley Sportster XL models. They are 39mm in diameter, measure 31" long, and feature a Chrome plated finish. These fork tubes are +6" over the stock Harley OEM 43595-09. This listing is for fork tubes only, internals are not included.

#1 6 over forks topping out 06-09-2015, 11:01 PM Hey guys, I just installed some 6 over forks on my 94 Sportster and now it's topping out quite bad. I installed 9 oz (wet) of 20wt Belray oil along with a 6" PVC spacer on top of the springs. I measured the new fork tubes against the old ones and they are actually 6.75" longer.

Just get the 6 over. You won't be happy with the 4's. 4 over seems like the sweet spot for me 6 is a bit tall unless you're just going for the extreme look. 4" will still give you the look you're after I think. Especially if you plan on lowering the rear it might be best to just raise the front moderately.

I have a 1996 Sportster 1200s Sport model with the adjustable front forks, dual disks and all that and I am wanting to extend my front end (probably going +6 over) and was wondering what needs to be done to make it happen. I've done some searching but haven't found much.

17 comments Add a Comment BASE1530 • 6 mo. ago If you put 6 foot over forks on it's going to be really hard to ride. Jokes aside: You don't need to change the rake in your frame. I'd just delete the abs entirely if you're going to make such drastic changes to the bike's handling anyway.

I've been getting into retro old school chopper. 1960s & 70s style. And one thing I've been having a hard time grasping this 4 over, 6 over, 8 over etc forks. What does that even mean? I'm guessing it means its 4, 6, 8 inches longer than stock forks. But idk. Maybe I'm over thinking it.. I really love the look of mildly extended forks.

The rake makes it track much better at speed, and the low-speed is only dicey for about 3 hours of low speed. I solved that by doing a lot of parking lot low-speed drills: figure 8s, tight ass circles, as slow as possible, etc. GET THE 8 OVERS OP, medium over lengths are silly af. McGipps • 1 yr. ago.
